INDIAN
        Walker/Spires

My thoughts are few, but your questions many.
You cannot squeeze life's blood where there isn't plenty.

I am Indian,
I cannot love you as I love the wind & earthen walls.
Sometimes my mind's eye is like the seas' angry squalls.

This is as close as I dare to come,
For I know not the words that seem to have done
As well for humans before & after me.

Long ago, I could have caught my horse
And trained him with my hands.
Now if I were blessed with the means to buy him,
I would not have the land to provide him.

I am Indian,
More red than white, more dark than light,
Not wrong or right - only hoping to see the light.
